‘The Beautiful and Damned’ – F. Scott Fitzgerald

‘It had never occurred to him that he was a passive thing, acted upon by an influence…that he was merely the sensitive plate on which the photograph was made. Some…photographer had focused on Gloria and….the plate could but develop, confined like all things to its nature.’

Very sad ending, but deserved. Couldn’t stand them, especially GP – such a brat! Hope she got fat. Not an overwhelmingly great novel, or immersing. The last few chapters were good but considered giving up in the first two years of their marriage. He was so weak.
