‘Engleby’ – Sebastian Faulks

I wasn’t sure about reading this because of how much I hated Human Traces but am so glad I did as it was excellent. Very dark and scarily normal. Am concerned about my own psychological state on reflection as I kept engaging with his expressed thoughts, only to later discover his psychotic nature.

Just as I wrote that, I wondered if it would offend Engleby – that’s how real a character he seemed.

No idea what to read next now. And had the strange effect of making me want to keep a proper diary again.
